If you build an estate sale website with the proper search engine optimization, they will come. If you write an effective estate sale marketing plan, you will reach your target market (clients and buyers). Both statements are correct, but require ongoing research, updates and patience. The purpose of an estate sale business marketing plan is to reach your target market as quickly as possible.
A brief estate sale business marketing plan must answer the basic questions about who is your target market, what press release message and media sources will you use to announce your business, what is your unique selling proposition, what services will your business website offer to attract clients?
When you have answered these questions, you will have a summary of the main points that describe your initial marketing strategy. You can expand it as you go.
An effective estate sale business marketing plan includes more than the previously stated details and advertising to achieve long-term results, however, as mentioned above, it can be expanded as you go.
The most successful marketing plan incorporates a variety of promotional methods and projected results to reach your market of clients and buyers.
Be innovative and creative with your marketing strategy while maintaining a common theme and image on your estate sale website.
Outline the viability of the marketing plan including effectiveness of digital channels, direct salesmen and women, and other medium you use to build, grow and sustain your estate sales such as:
- Digital Advertising Channels | Internet Advertising: Website, mobile website, mobile app, podcast, email marketing, search engine marketing, cost per click, television, digital magazines and community newspapers
- Estate Sale Assistants: Recruitment of spouse, relatives, friends, neighbors
- Trade Shows | Associations: Cross marketing campaigns with local auctions
- Public Relations: Press releases, charity sponsorships, charitable donations
Describe 3-5 key marketing strategies in detail and show how each of these strategies attract estate sale clients.
Overtime, your basic marketing outline will evolve into a comprehensive in-depth plan that include costs, time lines, reach and the number of clients you expect to receive from the amount you invested.
Remember to research your closest competition. If they have a marketing strategy that works, you may consider a similar strategy.
